A Professional Award in Micro-needling prepares you with the necessary skills and knowledge to integrate such mechanical micro-needling >1.0mm into your practice which meet the Health Education England’s (HEE) 2016 Qualification Requirements for Delivery of Cosmetic Procedures. Important aspects such as skin conditions, their diagnosis along with the indication and contraindication of the treatment options is incorporated into the programme to train you up to the highest standards of professionalism and being a practitioner.

Teaching encompasses cutaneous anatomy and physiology, skin aging and related disorders, types of devices and depth of micro-needling along with their mode of action, homecare and professional products, professional treatment options and devices, medical and dental council rules and regulations, professionalism with clinical management strategies and clinical demonstration followed by a hands-on session of more than 1.0mm of mechanical micro-needling on patients or simulated models.

Practical Workshops

As part of the course, you will be exposed to unique practical training, benefiting from the experience of performing procedures on patients and simulated models.

Clinical Training

You will be exposed to clinical training in our state-of-the-art dental hospital in central Birmingham, where facial aesthetics procedures are undertaken by expert academic and specialists.

A Professional Award in Micro-needling

This course is delivered online and you will attend two days of teaching comprising of clinical demonstrations followed by hands-on sessions under the supervision of our qualified consultants. You will be able to attend synchronous and recorded seminars on our advanced virtual learning platform. The practical sessions are also recorded with all the relevant materials posted for you to complete the practical’s in your practice.

Entry
Requirements:

(a) Registered medical doctors, registered dentists, or level 6 degree in Oral Sciences, Pharmacy, Biomedical science, a healthcare field, or equivalent,

(b) Competence in written and spoken English assessed internally by the Institute academics

All applicants need to demonstrate:

  • Evidence of professional indemnity cover and,
  • Health to be able to perform clinical practice
  • A current evidence of satisfactory DBS check
  • A valid professional registration number to practice in the UK
